On April 28, 2009 Carl and I finally had our little miracle bundle of joy.
Pattrik Riley arrived after 13 hours of labor. He is the most precious
thing in our lives.

My wonderful husband is currently at Camp Shelby preparing to deploy to Iraq
within the next month or so. I am so proud of him, but I miss him so much.
PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease) effects millions of women. Aside from the detrimental health
issues there is the added heartbreak of infertility. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 23. It's
a battle that I refuse to give up on.

Nothing about this has been easy. When someone tells me that I took the easy way by having this surgery I have to
bite my tongue. This was a difficult and life altering decision. If you know someone who has had this surgery or
is contemplating it take the time to offer your support.
